Rallying News - 12th February 2012
First in Class N3 on the Wyedean Rally.
A Change of Car to the Ford Fiesta ST, change of Co-driver to Chris Spilsted and being in a new BTRDA Class, N3, which runs with the main field, the last thing I needed was the weather to be as freezing as it was. Having said this I did win the N3 Class and finished 77th out of a capacity field of 180 starter (only 122 finishers).
We had a few spins on the first stage, but after that I started to get used to the car, which really wasn't suited to the icy conditions. Wide tyres and too much power under my right foot, meant that completing the rally was going to be an achievement. As other people succumbed to the conditions, I moved up the leader board throughout the day. I now know the car has great potential, and is more suited to the rallies yet to come, especially the Somerset Rally in April.
The photos above show us tackling a stage on the Wyedean Forest Rally and myself at the end of a successfull Rally. More photos taken on the Wyedean Forest Rally can be found if you click here Rally Gallery.

My Co-Driver was Chris Spilsted for the rally and the Ford Fiest ST was prepared by John Goff and the Rallyschool.co.uk team.
My next event will be the Somerset Stages Rally on the 21st April 2012 and it is based at Minehead.
Bye for now
