Rallying/Racing News - 11th July 2010
Fourth in class on the Quinton Rally, due to puncture on last stage.
Yesterday I competed on the Quinton Stages Rally based at Llandovery and I finished 4rd in class. I also finished 43rd overall from 97 starters (68 whom finished) and 15th in the 1400 class of cars.
The rally on the whole went well with a few mistakes with the notes but nothing serious. Throughout the rally we kept pace with the leaders and if it hadn't been for the puncture on the last stage we could have finished as high as 2nd.
Although I finished 4th, I actually get 3rd place points, as the team that finished 2nd were not eligible for championship points. I also benefited from other peoples problems, as 2 other teams either rolled or went off on this rally which means they are now in the same position as I'am in that they have to finish the last 2 event to score 5 rallies out of 7. All is not yet lost and as there is now the summer break and I'm still positive about scoring well in the 2 remaining rallies.

My Co-Driver was Joe Cruttenden for the rally and the 1400 VW Lupo was prepared by John Goff and the Rallyschool team (www.rallyschool.co.uk) based in Shropshire.
My next event will be on the 4th September 2010 and will be the Woodpecker Rally based at Ludlow Racecourse in Wales.
Bye for now
