Gear Linkage Problems before the Plains.
Another Rally that didn't go exactly to plan.
Last Saturday I was to compete on the Plains Rally based around Welshpool, but on the way to the start the gear linkage broke and left the car with only first, third and fifth gears. The service team tried to fix the problem with cable ties, but this didn't work. This left the team with no choice but to withdraw the car from the event to avoid any further damage. This and the DNF on the Somerset last month, has left me an uphill task for the rest of the season in that 5 events count out of the 7 in the championship with only 4 rallies remaining.
My Co-Driver was Joe Cruttenden.
The 1400 VW Lupo was prepared by John Goff and the Rallyschool team (www.rallyschool.co.uk) based in Shropshire.
My next event will be on the 12th June 2010 and will be the Dukeries Rally based at Southwell nr Mansfield.
