2007 News...
Future Plans - 15th July 2007
Revised 2007 Motorsport Plans.
At the moment I'm concentrating most of my efforts practicing for my DSA driving test which presently is scheduled for the end of August. I have already passed my theory and hazard perception tests with flying colours and I hope to do the same with the practical test.
I have recently been helping out at the Rallyschool in Shropshire under the guidance of John Goff. I help out organising who is having what drives when and assist in strapping people into the cars ready for there drives. For this I get some tuition from the instructors and practice drives in one of the ford focus's. I also have been away with the team to a number of Rallies which is great fun and it is something I would like to do again. At the end of the this month, I'm going to try for the Rallyschool Scholarship, which if successful I would get a paid drive in the 2008 Formula 1000 rally championship.
I have now completed my first year of the National Diploma in Motorsport course I'm attending at Myerscough College. Its been a tough year but it has been great fun and I'm looking forward to restarting on the second year in September.
Last Sunday my Mum, Dad and myself went to a open day at the Prodrive factory near Banbury. While going around the site we saw how much engineering goes into each of the race and rally cars. The Subaru World Rally Team were there performing some very fast engine and gearbox changes. The Le Mans winning Aston Martin team performed a series of very quick wheel changes as well as displaying some of the cars used in the James Bond films.
I may have some other motorsport activities planned for the rest of 2007, but more about those later.
Bye for now.
