Rally Training at a Rallyschool in Shropshire.

Last Friday I went to the Rallyschool in Shropshire for more rally training in the Nissan Micra, and my instructor for the day was James who has helped me several times during 2006. The weather was terrible, winds blowing up to 70 mph and raining most of the time and on top of all that I was full of a bad cold.

During the day we worked on getting my lines better (i.e. where to brake and where to accelerate) and to try and keep the car as smooth as possible when approaching bends. I shared the car with 3 other lads, so a lot of time was spent with each of us getting in and out of the car. As the day went on I felt I was improving in some areas, but my cold started to take its toll and I didn't feel to good during the afternoon sessions.(its sods law that I have a cold on the one day I needed to be fit). The day finished with John Goff(who was suffering from a bad back) taking me out for a session in the Micra, to check on my progress. He pointed out several areas which I need to work on and has suggested some 1 to 1 training to iron out some of these areas. This I hope to do during the early part of 2007.
