Karting News - 19th November 2006
2006 Covkartsport Senior Lights Championship - Red Lodge.

I finished my last Covkartsport Senior Light Race meeting for 2006 in 8th place, which secured me 4th in the Senior Lights Championship(after deducting the lowest score from the total for the year).

In my first race I finished 7th and the reason was my kart just wouldn't accelerate on the straights and I was easy picking for the rest of the field. I fared much better in my 2 other races finishing 2nd and 4th, gaining places from my start positions of 3rd and 5th respectfully.

On reflection 4th in the championship is not a bad result, as I know I can do better given a bit more luck and more practice than I was able to do this year due to other commitments. I also had 2 mechanical failure during the year which cost me a lot of points especially the failure at Rye House where everyone raced in each of the 3 races. I have also not been able to practice as much as in previous years due to taking my GCSE's this year, attending courses for swimming(swimming teacher and Lifeguard courses) and a number of rallying commitments. Next year will be different, as my main aims next year all concentrated around motorsport, so 2007 will be very different.

My heartiest congratulations go out to the 2006 Champions, Jordan Fitzpatrick in the Senior Lights, Clive Childs in the Senior Heavies and the Overall Club Champion and Callam Foreman in the Juniors.

There are no more Covkartsport karting meetings left this year only the presentation evening in December which I will be attending with my Mum and Dad. Details of this result and previous Race Results for 2006.

Bye for now.
