Karting News - 15th October 2006
2006 Covkartsport Senior Lights Championship - Sutton Elms.

Again my lack of practice and the fact I'm now spending a lot of time learning car racing and rallying may have contributed to my lack of form at Sutton Elms. I didn't do as well as I know I can, but there were some very dubious marshalling decisions made on the day which also had an effect on my positions.

In my 3 races I had a 2nd and two 3rd places and I finished the day in overall 6th place. This now means that I'm now 5th in the Senior Lights on count back, and god knows where in the overall Covkartsport championship.

On a brighter note, I'm now starting to master some of the rallying techniques taught to me at the rally school. I have now been a few times where I'm helping out during the day and being paid in lessons with the various instructors. I have now had lessons in a variety of cars including the Nissan Micra, Ford Focus and WRX Turbo Charged Subaru Impreza. No guessing as to which I liked the most. This mixture of instructors and cars is to give me the best experiences and techniques from each instructors and to have a feel of how each of the cars reacts in different circumstances. More of my rallying and racing later in the year.

The next Covkartsport karting meeting is in the middle of November at the new revised circuit of Red Lodge. Details of this result and previous Race Results for 2006.

Bye for now.
