Karting News - 18th June 2006
2006 Covkartsport Senior Lights Championship - Glan-y-gors.

It was very wet day in Wales, although it was very warm.

I was gridded 1st in my 1st race, and I got a good start. Everyone else behind me struggled to get round the 1st left hander, so I ended up winning the race easily.

In my 2nd race, I started 5th and I just couldn't get past the guy in 3rd. He blocked every attempt I made to pass him and just when I had set him up to pass the chequered flag was waved and it was the end of the race. I end the race in 4th.

For my last race I was 7th on the grid. I ended up passing 2 karts early on but when trying to pass the guy in 4th we touched and I ended up on the grass. I was now 8th, and spent the rest of the race clawing my way back to 7th. When I got out of the kart the tyres were smoking as I had really tried to catch the front runners.

I finished the day in 5th= place on points, which means I have dropped down the tables to 5th in the Senior Lights and 14th in the overall Covkartsport championship. Details of this result and previous Race Results for 2006.

Cheers.
