2005 Covkartsport Junior Championship - Sutton Elms.
Sutton Elms, Covkartsport Junior Championship Race, 18th September 2005 - Third Equal
In the 1st race I was 3rd on the grid and I had a good start taking the lead. I held onto the lead until the last lap when I went to wide at the hairpin, allowing Alex Johnson-Bret, who had been tailing me throughout the race, to cut inside me and take the chequered flag.
The 2nd race saw me 5th on the grid and after another good start I was 2nd. I was never going to catch the 1st place driver so I was concentrating on keeping 2nd. This I would have done if the driver behind me hadn't tagged me off. This particular driver knocked several people of during the day but managed not to incur any penalties. What can you do? Anyhow I finished the race in 3rd.
My last race of the day was my best and I had a good fight for the lead. I was gridded in 2nd. Ian Knight and myself got clear of the rest after a couple of laps. Ian had the lead for 4 laps but made a mistake on the 5th. I was in the right place to take advantage of his mistake and took the lead. Ian tried several times to take the lead back, but I held him back and I managed to win the race.

Congratulations to Chris Hall jnr for matching my points score and beating me on fastest lap times. I'm still 3rd equal with 248 points (after dropping my lowest score), in the Junior Championship and I'm still 7th equal in the overall Covkartsport Championship(all weights). The next Covkartsport race meeting is back at GYG, on the 9th October 2005.
Previous Race Results for this season.
