Tested the South Circuit at Daytona Milton Keynes.
My Mum and Dad decided that we all needed to have a few days break, so we went down to Northampton which is an ideal base to visit the Silverstone race circuit. I have always wanted to try different karting circuits so we went to the Daytona karting circuit at Milton Keynes.
As I had passed my ARKS, I was allowed to have a session on the south circuit. I was in a mixed group of 20 people, some experienced karters and some not. I had two sessions of 30 minutes and it was great. The weather kept dry and my best laptime was 1:14.355, which I was told wasn't bad for a first attempt (lap records for the circuit is 1:09.767). For about 15 minutes of the second session, I had a good scrap with a local driver who drives at Milton Keynes regularly. We exchanged the lead many times and it was a shame the session had to end. This has given me a boost to my confidence and hopefully I will carry this forward to my next race.
