Karting News - 10th August 2004
I've Passed my ARKS.

In karting terms passing your ARKS is no big deal, but the weather played in big part before and during the test. The organisers nearly called of the test due to the torrential rain we had in the morning. I had prepared for the test for over a week and didn't want to put of taking the test of any longer, so I was relieved that they allowed it to go ahead.

First I watched the ARKS video and then I went out for the driving test. The kart I was borrowing from Three Sisters wouldn't start due to the air filter and spark plug being soaked with water. The mechanic changed the parts and finally got the kart going after about 5-10 minutes. Then it started to rain again. During the test it was raining, but I managed to keep the kart on the track. After the track test I took the written exam which was ten multiple choice questions. Then I was told the result, "I'd passed". It felt great, so now I can compete outdoors in various championships.
